Smash: A Glimpse Of The Daily Challenges In Kenya

The new car has been wonderful.  Back in December John commented "MANY THANKS TO KCEA FOR OUR NEW CAR! It has been of great help facilitating KCEA students from schools to their homes/villages from different schools and different locations."

But day-to-day realities intrude. We just got a text from John "Just yesterday we were coming back from Olkiriaine after dropping to school a new student, Helen. A passenger inside a passing bus threw an empty bottle out of the window hitting my car while passing and hit my windshield and smash 💥 it and the bus 🚌 never stop, We were so scared 😳 I proceeded to the Narok police station and report the incident."  

We are so relieved that no one was hurt.  But John has had to make several trips to town to follow up on the insurance. Unfortunately, the insurance company had to refer him to a distant city for quality replacement glass, dealers, and experts. John negotiated persuasively for a reasonable insurance settlement, but it still involved a full day of driving and waiting, and about $200 in costs to KCEA.
