Great preparation and start to 2025

There is a ferment of activity for KCEA around the start of the calendar year.  This activity may not be so obvious to supporters, but it's a super-busy period of several months. In a nutshell, here are the major processes that have taken place.

For the new students being accepted into KCEA in 2025:

1)  In November and December of 2024 John Keshe conducted a vetting of potential students who applied for acceptance in the KCEA sponsorship program for secondary school.

2) John reviewed information on each candidate, visited their family/village, consulted with community elders and selected 18 students as candidates for sponsorship (a few of whom are shown below).

3) John provided information to KCEA-US, for consideration by potential sponsors.

4) John then helped the students and coordinated with many schools to arrange secondary school acceptance of each of them to the best school available to them.

5) In early January 2025, John conducted an orientation meeting with the students and families, helping them understand what lies ahead and reminding them of their responsibilities

6) In mid January, John helped with the logistics of getting the new students to their schools and making sure they were properly settled.

7) Even as the school year started, John vetted three additional late-qualifying candidates who have now been sponsored

For the students who are already sponsored by KCEA:

8) In mid-December, John arranged a graduation ceremony for the graduating students, complete with graduation certificates and custom T-shirts.

9) John arranged for three teachers to conduct a two week "interyear classes" in December during the extra-long school break.  This helps the students stay productively occupied and work on areas of greatest weakness.

10) John organized and conducted the two day December LifeSkills workshop including four distinguished invited speakers. Many of the new students also attended and began bonding with current students.

(It should be apparent from the above what an amazing job John does, often with the extraordinary help of his wife Peres and community partners.  KCEA thanks our partner Connection Point Christian Church for John's salary).

At this point KCEA is at its highest enrollment: 78 students, 18 of whom are new this year.  This growth raises many challenges both in Kenya and in the US.  KCEA thanks all our supporters so much for helping us "raise our game" to meet these challenges

KCEA has 78 students enrolled in 2025, an alltime high
